Absa Run Your City Tshwane 10K brings women, wellness and community to the streets of the Jacaranda City!

The streets of Tshwane were set to come alive as thousands of runners came to Jacaranda City for the Absa Run Your City Tshwane 10K on Sunday, 23 August 2026.

Returning for another year, the Tshwane leg of the Absa Run Your City Series will bring together social runners, running clubs, families and athletes for a 10km celebration of movement, community and the unmistakable energy of the capital city.

Taking place during Women’s Month, this year’s race also provides a powerful platform for Absa to bring its Here To Be campaign to life, celebrating women for who they are, what they stand for and the spaces they continue to create for themselves and others.

Through its Here To Be campaign, Absa continues to amplify women’s voices and champion purposeful action that supports women across Africa. The campaign reflects Absa’s belief that women should have the opportunity and platform to be seen, heard and empowered to thrive, whether in business, the creative industries, sport or their communities.

The Absa Run Your City Series provides a natural extension of this purpose, creating an inclusive platform where women can show up as runners, supporters, leaders, friends and community members, while celebrating the strength, individuality and stories that make them who they are.

The Absa Run Your City Series is about more than crossing the finish line. It is a movement that brings people together through running, shared experiences and a collective love for their cities.

The Tshwane race will transform the streets of the capital into a vibrant celebration of movement, music, entertainment and community, giving participants an opportunity to experience their city from a different perspective while connecting with thousands of fellow runners.

“Absa Run Your City is about so much more than the finish line,” adds Nsibanyoni. “It is about people coming together, experiencing their city and celebrating what makes each community unique. As we celebrate Women’s Month, we want every woman who takes part, supports a runner or simply shows up to feel that this is her space too, a space to move, connect, celebrate and be exactly who she is.”

The race-weekend experience kicks off ahead of race day, with participants able to collect their race packs and get into the Absa Run Your City spirit through a programme of experiences around the city.

• Friday, 21 August: Race Pack Collection and PUMA Nitro Run at the Union Buildings in Tshwane
• Saturday, 22 August: Absa City Clean-Up from 08:30–10:00 at the Absa Lillian Ngoyi Street branch, followed by Race Pack Collection at the Union Buildings

On race day, runners can look forward to a host of experiences designed to make the Absa Run Your City Tshwane 10K about more than simply completing 10 kilometres. From t-shirt personalisation and PUMA experiences to the Absa Photobooth, participants will have opportunities to celebrate their individual stories and make the most of their Absa Run Your City experience.

At its heart, the Absa Run Your City Tshwane 10K is a celebration of the people who bring the city to life.

During Women’s Month, Absa is inviting women to take their place on the streets, in their communities and in their own stories, because every woman deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard, celebrated and empowered to thrive.
