Walk The Talk Became A Journey of Wonderrrr with Mazda

A garden appearing in the middle of the city, a world filled with colour, music spilling into the streets and thousands of bubbles floating through the Johannesburg skyline.

For participants in the 2026 702 Walk the Talk, the journey was about more than reaching the finish line. As walkers moved through some of Johannesburg’s most recognisable neighbourhoods, Mazda South Africa brought its Wonderrrr Awaits philosophy to life through a series of immersive experiences designed to inspire curiosity, connection and joy.

The Mazda activations transformed familiar parts of the city into moments of unexpected discovery. Walkers encountered a Japanese Garden at Jewel City, stepped into a vibrant Colour World at Fuller Park, experienced the energy of a Grand Piano at Bank City and moved through a playful Bubble Field on Harrison Street.

Each experience offered something different, but they were connected by one idea, wonder can find you anywhere, even along a route you may have travelled many times before.

“Wonder is not always something people have to travel far to find. Sometimes it appears in a familiar street, a shared laugh, a piece of music or a moment that makes you stop and look at the world differently,” said Deolinda Da Costa, Head of Marketing and Communications, Mazda Southern Africa.

Mazda’s presence extended throughout the full event journey, from the excitement before the walk to the final steps across the finish line.

The Mazda Wonderrrr Walk Crew brought together members of the community, media, content creators, influencers and friends of the brand, who completed the route in Mazda walking gear while experiencing and sharing the activations along the way.
