South Africans Benni McCarthy and Cheslin Kolbe Take SportyBet Crash Games to the World Stage
South African sporting icons Benni McCarthy and Cheslin Kolbe are taking their competitive spirit beyond the football pitch and rugby field as they join global entertainment stars DJ Khaled and Burna Boy for SportyBet’s first-ever Crash Games World Championship (CGWC).
The three-week global tournament brings together six Crash Games titles and players from across SportyBet markets, with five Sporty Group ambassadors competing in the Championship. McCarthy and Kolbe will represent South Africa alongside DJ Khaled, Burna Boy and Ivorian footballer Yan Diomande, while a sixth ambassador is set to be revealed ahead of the competition.
For Mzansi fans, the Championship puts two familiar sporting figures at the centre of a global gaming competition, bringing together sport, entertainment and competition in a new format.
The six games featured in the Championship are Rugby Blitz, Sporty Skills, Jet Golf by DJ Khaled, Sporty Jets by Burna Boy, Sporty Hero and LaLiga Penalty. Players will compete for the title of CGWC World Champion, with exclusive limited-edition prizes also up for grabs, including rewards that money cannot buy.
For McCarthy and Kolbe, the competition offers a different kind of challenge trading their familiar sporting environments for the fast-paced world of Crash Games and competing as part of a global field.
The Championship also brings together SportyBet’s gaming portfolio and the international reach of Sporty Group’s talent in a format designed to create a new experience for players across the SportyBet ecosystem.
With DJ Khaled and Burna Boy adding global star power to the line-up, and South Africans McCarthy and Kolbe bringing a local sporting connection, the Championship is set to create a truly international competition with a distinctly South African presence.
Further details on the Crash Games World Championship, including the sixth ambassador, exclusive prizes and how players can take part, will be revealed soon. The countdown to SportyBet’s first global Crash Games tournament has begun
