MaKhumalo’s public declaration that she is “done sharing” has sent social media into overdrive. Speculation has run wild. Theories have multiplied. Mzansi is waiting with bated breath for answers.
Is she leaving? Is there family conflict? Has something fundamental shifted in the Mseleku household?

Then you see the footage. A family meeting. Tension at the table. MaKhumalo firm, resolved. Drawing a line.
And KFC is somehow in the middle of it.

The conversation nobody expected
In a scene from an unreleased episode of Uthando Nes’thembu, the Mseleku family gathers for an urgent meeting. Musa presides at the head of the table, flanked by MaCele, MaYeni and MaNgwabe. The atmosphere is filled with tension.

The conversation escalates with the family’s trademark blend of philosophy, concern and reality TV dramatics. MaCele reminds everyone that polygamy is about sharing. MaYeni nods in agreement. MaNgwabe, ever the pragmatist, suggests not everything needs to be shared.
Then Musa attempts to resolve it: “Nami ngiyayizwa le eyenzekayo, kodwa ke, sonke masingayithola singanela … There is enough for us all.”
MaKhumalo’s response is firm and final: “Mina ngisayinile phela iContract … I signed the contract after all … I will never leave this marriage, but on this … I draw the line…”

What is KFC doing here?
The specifics remain unclear. But KFC Africa Chief Marketing Officer, Hloni Mohope, has a cryptic response: “This campaign speaks to something real in South African culture,” she says.
“We all know someone who can’t help themselves when something good appears. MaKhumalo’s stand is funny because it’s true. The full story unfolds on 22 September.”
