South African entertainer Holly Rey Takes Reycation on the Road with Beekman Group

An award-winning South African entertainer is collaborating with an award-winning South African resorts and hotels chain, Beekman Group. Holly Rey and her younger sister Mimi are hitting the road for Reycation – a family adventure series that will take them to five of Beekman Group’s leading destinations, giving audiences front-row seats to memorable moments on this family holiday.

“This is such an exciting partnership for us because it gives social media followers a unique opportunity to experience our resorts in a completely different format,” says Wayne Beekman, Director at The Beekman Group. “We have such a diverse collection of destinations, each with its own character and attractions, and this series allows us to open those doors to an even bigger audience authentically and entertainingly.”

Holly Rey brings her experience as a multi-platinum-selling musician, award-winning television personality, producer and entrepreneur, with the series combining travel, family entertainment and original storytelling in a fun format. The five Beekman Group resorts will feature across 10 short-form YouTube episodes released fortnightly, with snippets shared across social media platforms.

With Beekman Group as the official accommodation partner and Vita on board to keep the journey refreshed, the new short-form YouTube series promises plenty of laughs and inspiration for families looking for their next getaway.

Plus, there’s a chance for viewers to join the adventure too! While watching Reycation, audiences can answer questions linked to each episode and stand a chance to win a four-night getaway for four at a selected Beekman Group resort, valued at up to R30 000. Full competition rules and entry details will be released ahead of Episode 1.

“We’re really looking forward to hosting the Rey sisters and seeing where their adventures take them. Their natural chemistry and sense of fun are going to make for some fantastic moments, and we think audiences will really enjoy travelling along with them,” notes Beekman.

Five Resorts, Five Very Different Adventures

The Reycation road trip will take Holly and Mimi to these five Beekman Group destinations, each offering a distinctly different holiday experience.

1.  Cayley Mountain Resort

Set in the Central Drakensberg, Cayley Mountain Resort is the perfect backdrop for this active family adventure. With the spectacular Drakensberg landscape surrounding the resort, the Rey sisters can enjoy outdoor activities, explore the mountains and make use of the resort’s family-focused facilities. The sisters will enjoy Bell Park Dam, home to the Cayley Cruiser, as well as the Cayley Beach Club and Leap Adventures.

2.  Kiara Lodge

Nestled near the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in the Free State near Clarens, Kiara Lodge offers the Rey sisters the chance for a mountain escape surrounded by some of the province’s most striking scenery. Its location makes it an ideal base for them to explore the outdoors, while the resort provides plenty of opportunities to relax and spend quality time together. Some of the on-site facilities they get to enjoy are the indoor swimming pool and waterslides, the dam for water sports activities, the climbing wall, and a fully stocked games room.

3.  Dikhololo Resort

Located in the North West, Dikhololo Resort is all about family-friendly fun, with a wide range of activities and facilities that will keep the Rey sisters entertained, from biking trails, a supertube and game drives to the Body Bliss Day Spa, Teen Lounge, and Hololo Terrace Restaurant. Whether it’s outdoor adventures or simply time spent together at the resort, there’s plenty of scope for the unscripted moments and humorous encounters on this Reycation journey.

4.  The Kingdom Resort

Situated close to the Pilanesberg National Park, The Kingdom Resort brings a distinctly bushveld flavour to the Reycation journey. The sisters will enjoy a comfortable stay at this resort, offering the Rare Game Experience unlike any other, as well as a range of facilities and activities for this memorable series. These include Splash Kingdom Waterpark, Leap Adventures, plus a Rare Game Experience unlike any other, along with the Pizzeria and The Acacia Table providing sumptuous meals.

5.  Hazyview Cabanas

Just a short distance from the Kruger National Park, Hazyview Cabanas puts the Rey sisters within easy reach of one of South Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. The resort combines a relaxed holiday environment with access to a range of on-site facilities such as Leap Adventures, Max’s Fun Club, Body Bliss Day Spa, River’s Edge Restaurant, and a number of water-based activities including swimming, waterslides, and river rafting.

Following the Reycation Roadtrip

For Holly Rey, the Reycation series is unique as it follows the relationship between two sisters from different generations during the unpredictable reality of travelling together.

“I’m so excited to take Reycation on the road and experience these incredible Beekman Group resorts with Mimi,” says Holly Rey. “What makes this so exciting is that we get to experience the resorts properly: the activities, the facilities, the food, the adventures and, of course, all the unexpected moments that happen when you put two sisters in a car and send them off on a mission!

“Beekman Group has such an amazing range of holiday destinations, so there’s going to be something completely different waiting for us at every stop. We can’t wait to share the journey, the laughs and the adventures with everyone watching. Watch this space and keep following along – you never know where Reycation is going to take us next!”

Holly and Mimi’s interactions, decisions, debates and discoveries will give audiences a fun – and relatable – view of family travel. And with five very different Beekman Group destinations on the itinerary, Reycation ensures no two stops are the same!
